A 14-year-old Northland school girl is in a serious condition after she was struck by a bus outside her school. We need action now to stop these accidents from happening!
Rural Women New Zealand has called a high level meeting of people involved in these issues, to be held in Wellington on 3 November.
TERNZ will be presenting on their school bus signage, and speed past schools research. NZTA will be in attendance, along with representatives of many other stakeholder groups. The aim of the meeting is to come up with a joint set of recommendations and a call to action based on the recommendations. We hope that by leading on this issue and working together with interested parties, tangible progress will be made as quickly as possible.
